Welcome to Gates Elementary School
Our History
Gates is located off of Courthouse Road in Chesterfield Virginia. The school opened in 1983 under the leadership of Mr. Guy Smith. It is named after Sheriff Gates of Chesterfield County.
At the present time we have approximately 560 students from Kindergarten to fifth grade including some specialty programs. The programs housed at our school are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Severe Disability, Intensive Day Program, Autism Day program, and the Mild Mentally Disabled Program, and a Center Based Gifted Program.
